The modern process of high education in Mostar started in 1950 with the opening of the Pedagogical Acdemy, followed by Postsecondary Technical School of Mechanical Engineering and Agricultural. Department of Law and Economics of the University of Sarajevo was formed in 1970 and in 1976 they became independent faculties.
Taking into account decades of long history, the "Džemal Bijedić" University of Mostar can be significantly recognized by a number of important dates briefly listed below.
